Commercial Description:
For years, we've been telling you that great taste grows on trees -- apple trees that is. But just across the orchard we discovered another kind of great taste. We went out on a limb and created Woodchuck Pear Cider, a crisply refreshing drink with the tantalizing essence of pear. You can buy it in 6-packs or on draft.

Pours a very clear, extremely pale gold. If fact, it’s just crystal clear with a tinge of gold. Lightly fizzy and no head at all. Aroma is dry pear blossom. Taste is a bit dry. Some sweetish pear to offset the dryness. Pure pear essence. Lightly sticky mouth. Simple but decent.

Bottled. Pours a very pale yellowish sort of color. Slightly sweet acidic aroma. Pretty sweet flavor. A hint of pears. Mostly tastes sugary sweet. Not bad.

A decent hard drink, but lacks alot of personality. Very refreshing, but pears just don’t have a distinct flavor. This is great on a hot day, but not a drink to remember.

Another cider I almost forgot that I’ve sampled. Eh, what to expect. Pear flavors, okay, but I’d rather drink a beer and eat a pear seperately.

My wife wanted to try this, so of course I had to try it and rate it. It gave the apperance of water with just a bit of green and yellow food coloring added, no head, no lacing. The aroma was of the expected fresh crisp pears. The taste was more of the pears, but not so much over the top as I would have expected it to be. A bit sweet, but more refeshing. I am not a big fan of pears to begin with, but this wasnt a total waste.

Pours clear yellow-green with almost no head and small bubbles chasing up the glass. Nose is faint pear. Flavor is artificially sweet, rather chemical, not refreshing or crisp or particularly drinkable. Neh.

Bottled - Clear and a little watery. Although the smell and taste of the pears brings me back to the day of eating the pears off a tree in my backyard when I was a child. Low alcohol content though so don’t buy to get "wasted".

The pear is not too detectable. Tasted quite similar to the apple cider. Dry, sparkly fruity flavor. Lacked the tartness of the other ciders made from apple.
