A rich golden color and a frothy white head with some lacing. Flavor reminds me of yeasty grainy bread, but not the same as the ’monk’s liquid bread". Needs to go with the chicken dinner at the Wooden Shoe Restaurant in Minster, Ohio.

This pours a deep golden body with a large & foamy, slightly yellowed head. Okay lacing. The aroma is a combo of bread dough and rough grains. The flavor has a buttery taste with grains and a touch of apples and sourness near the finish. Drinkable, but not much of a Bock.

The weaker of the two Wooden Shoe revival beers. Deep golden color with an off white head. Grainy astringency in the aroma. There is something harsh in this beer that throws it off for me. Multi-grain bread, old orange peel, yeasty tartness matched with an almost toffee sweetness and a raw graininess. Okay beer, but it is better with food.

A bottle from a german pub next to Minster, Ohio (who has authentic german beer the fist wed of every month): The K-village Inn--see my place ratings. Not as good as the lager, hands down--what does that mean. Good start though frothy head with decent lacing; nose with a strong alcohol presence. Lacks any real flavor otherwise and has a dry finish.

Bottle. Thanks to jsquire for sharing. Off-white small head that mostly diminished, poor lacing, transparent, very little carbonation, and an orange hue. Nose was malty and semi-sweet. Flavor was semi-sweet, malt and dry. Mouthfeel was smooth and dry. Light-medium body. Definitely not true to the style on this one. Lacked flavor and character.

JSquire, Hotstuff and I had this at a tasting party at his house last night. This bottled brew from a rating party poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a transparent softly carbonated golden brown colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was malty and sweet. The smooth mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt and sweet. A decent one but not one that I would consider drinking again. This beer is very unbock like in many aspects. Definitely not like a typical German style Bock.
