Bottle... Clear, light golden lager with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Decent retention. The aroma is lactic up front, but candy sugar-sweet with rich notes of praline, caramel, deep roasted toffee, unidentified tropical fruit and golden raisins. Hearty malt flavor with heaps of toasted pistachios, cashews and pralines. Candy in a glass, but not cloyingly sweet. Medium to full-bodied with a syrupy mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Lengthy, lightly sweet finish. A must try for malt heads! Underrated, I think. A big THANKS to aofoxxy for providing the bottle!

This pours a deep golden body with a large & foamy, slightly yellowed head. Okay lacing. The aroma is a combo of bread dough and rough grains. The flavor has a buttery taste with grains and a touch of apples and sourness near the finish. Drinkable, but not much of a Bock.

Poured a clear amber color with a small almost white head. The aroma was yeasty with light fruits. Dry though with a hint of alcohol. The flavor was malty with some sweetness. Fruit on the finish. Medium bodied.

Sampled at the RBSG ’07 Grand Tasting and picked up in a trade with squire. A second historical Ohio beer brand revived by Barrel House Brewing. This time a late 1930s stock bock beer label. Pours a clear dark golden brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissolves. Aroma of multi-grain cereal, some sour apple, and grassy hops. Taste is highly carbonated, a little gritty with a metalic aftertaste. Finish is grainy and then clean. One of the lightest bock beers I’ve tried.
