[Cask at GBBF 2004] A yellow beer with no head. Both the aroma and flavor are yeasty with notes of peaches. A borinng beer.

Sampled cask conditioned. Deep golden coloured. Rich aromatic hoppy smell. Fruity and medium bodied. The same nice hop profile as their Norfolk Wherry Best Bitter, but more sweet and full bodied. The malt profile does not appeal to me as much.

Cask Handpump at the Penny Black, Northwich (JDW) 25/04/2005 Golden coloured with hoppy and sour fruit aromas. Slightly dry malt finish.

Bottle. A lagery sort of ale. Light pale malt sweetness, with some grassy, flowery hops. Mouthfeel is fairly dry, with some quenching crisp bitterness right at the end, lightly lemony at the end. Not too bad, a nice summer drink i would imagine.

Cask Conditioned. Yellow golden colour with big chunky head. I can only agree with previous apple comments, almost ciderish. Greenish lemony hops with short finish, dry winey grape.

One of a run of pale beers sampled in the same session that were not entirely successful - too soft for a regular bitter, not crisp enough for a summer quaffer. Pale gold colour. Nothing came through very strongly in either the aroma or the flavour. Light body - a bit thin. Uninspiring but inoffensive and somewhat short of character. Not bad, but a bit of a disappointment from Woodforde’s, whose beers I have generally held in high regard. Cask (handpump), Lord Moon of the Mall (JDW), Whitehall, London SW1.

If ever a beer looked like piss...Aroma is like the previous gents say - apples. Flavours are weak lemon drink and the finish is poor. Woodfordes should dump this one.

Cask conditioned - handpump - GBBF 2005. A bright gold coloured beer with a dry fruity hoppy aroma. The taste has some hops coming through but is a bit sulphuric. Shame as Woodfordes is a good brewer.
