Bottle from GBBF bottle stall, drunk on 30th Sept 08. Clear amber, no head. Strong alcohol on the tongue - lots of warmth. Falls between two stools - not a full on barley wine but too strong to drink in quantity. Sweetness is kept in check though. Full bodied & smooth. If it is up your street, rate higher as there are no obvious flaws.

Bottle 50cl. @ home.
Clear light to medium amber orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, caramel, fruity, excotic fruits - tangerine - madarin, plum. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, a light alcohol - peppery burn and a long finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. The beer is nice but it gets quick tomuch.. (190808)

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Hazy golden, no head. lactic black currant aroma. Medium sweet with rounded mouthfeel. Fruity and lightlyu caramelly. Some alcohol is evident, but overshadowed by lactic citricity. Fairly low bitterness. The acidity puzzles me. Is it intentional? It seem somewhat out of place, but also gives an interesting twist.

Cask@GBBF2008. Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is alcohol, sweet fruity hops and mild notes of berries. Flavour is quite much alcohol, sweet fruityness and quite harsh grassyness. Aftertaste is just alcohol and some grassyness. Somehow I came to think of a malt liquor meeting an ale when I had this...

Cask - Fur & Feather, Woodbastwick. A clear, deep amber colour with no head. A rather fruity nose, with aromas of caramel lightly interspersed. The flavours continue in the same vein with strong notes of berries and, after the sweetness has subsided, it gives way to a sourish, spicy bitter finish. Perhaps a touch on the sweet side, but the palate is nicely full in body.
