Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
In Norfolk folklore a 'Mardler' is someone who likes to gossip.
"Smooth and gentle, this dark red beer has no overwhelming flavours. An insistent roast maltiness provides a counter to the bitter-sweet fruitiness, and a short but light finish."

Cask, GBBF 06. Lots of chocolate, big coffee malt. Very dark ruby, small white head. Chocolate, cream, sourness in flavour. Palate malty dryness.

[Cask at Volunteer’s Arms at GBBF 2006] A dark brown beer with a red shine underneath an orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of chocolate, while the flavor besides being sweet malty with chocolate notes also has some sulphury notes. The body is thin.

Very nice, like a good Mild, but I was told the previous day it was better. IT had a nice MIld taste and dark colour.

A deep orange brown colour with a weak head. A fairly hoppy nose with hints of sweet malt. The taste is initially dry, with hints of hops, that gives way to a malty sweetness. A traditional Norfolk mild style. Cask, from the woodforde’s beer tent at the 2004 Royal Norfolk Show

Cask Conditioned, at The Jolly Sailor, Brancaster, Norfolk.
Crimson brown with a thin white head. Dilute and lack a lot of the burn milt characters you would normally be looking for in a mild. If you were to ask me this looks a little bit like a ’malt job’!? Q.E.D.: Bitter + Water + Caramel = a dodgy mild.

Deepish brown colour, slightly cloudy. The aroma is very fruity for a mild, almost flowery. The flavour is not particularly roasty. Slightly bitter, with no great depth of flavour. A bit sharp and thin. perhaps not in peak condition. Cask (gravity dispense), Battersea beer Festival, February 2005.

Lacks aroma, a bit malty. Hazy brown in colour. Flavour is a bit bland, mildly malty with a touch of roast. Slighly acidic in the finish. Thin in body. Drinkable but dissapointing.
