Past its best, perhaps (last pint out the barrel), "no overwhelming flavours" indeed, rather watery but still had a dark fruitiness trying to break through, vaguely disappointing for a Woodfordes but still not bad. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 22, 2002 Founded in 1981 Woodforde’s have established themselves in Britain as a quality producer of traditional real ales, winning several major awards. They are a cask ale producer, although a limited number of bottle conditioned ales are available direct from the brewery. This is a very flavoursome Mild, a beer style that was almost in danger of vanishing but has seen a resurgence of interest lately. Full of roasty flavours with some dark fruit, this is a very refreshing and satisfying brew. Cask - Canterbury Beer Festival. omhper (12299), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 18, 2002 Sampled cask conditioned. Chestnut brown. Murky, fruity aroma. Light bodied. Roasty flavour. Sparkling and light mouthfeel. Hint of toffee. Average bitterness in the finish. An unusually complex and flavourful beer for being only 3.5%. This brewery is something extra!
