Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
In Norfolk folklore a 'Mardler' is someone who likes to gossip.
"Smooth and gentle, this dark red beer has no overwhelming flavours. An insistent roast maltiness provides a counter to the bitter-sweet fruitiness, and a short but light finish."

[Cask at Volunteer’s Arms at GBBF 2006] A dark brown beer with a red shine underneath an orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of chocolate, while the flavor besides being sweet malty with chocolate notes also has some sulphury notes. The body is thin.

Sampled cask conditioned. Chestnut brown. Murky, fruity aroma. Light bodied. Roasty flavour. Sparkling and light mouthfeel. Hint of toffee. Average bitterness in the finish. An unusually complex and flavourful beer for being only 3.5%. This brewery is something extra!

Cask gravity at Battersea BF 2007. I was rather surprised that I hadn’t rated this before. Very deep ruby/brown colour with no head. some roasty dry finish. Little bit watery in mouth. Some dark malts throughout. Decent mild which I guess fresh and in good condition would be very drinkable.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Battersea Beer Festival.
Dakr dark translucent red with a thin white rim. Really nice colour for a mild. Really pleasant coffee malt that is typically thin but very drinkable and with just enough character to keep your interest. Straight down the line but solid mild.

Cask Conditioned at The Fur and Feather, Woodbastwick, Norfolk. Dark brown beer with malty head. Smooth fruity, if thin mild. Mid roasted malts with a cherry like background.

Deepish brown colour, slightly cloudy. The aroma is very fruity for a mild, almost flowery. The flavour is not particularly roasty. Slightly bitter, with no great depth of flavour. A bit sharp and thin. perhaps not in peak condition. Cask (gravity dispense), Battersea beer Festival, February 2005.
