Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
In Norfolk folklore a 'Mardler' is someone who likes to gossip.
"Smooth and gentle, this dark red beer has no overwhelming flavours. An insistent roast maltiness provides a counter to the bitter-sweet fruitiness, and a short but light finish."

Half pint gravity fed at the Battersea Beer Festival, dark brown with a thin bubbly tan head. A warming chocolate malt aroma. Light and smooth palate, but a bit flavourless with just some light malt coming through, But still a very enjoyable mild.

Cask, gravity flow @ the Fur & Feather Inn, Woodbastwick, Norfolk.
I must be a little biased towards this brewery, but this is the lowest scorer on the scale from Woodforde’s yet it still sits in the mid three’s for me. Ruddy cola brown in body, reasonably clear, with an incomplete layer of off-white froth that left a few legs. Buttery, chocolate cake nose with a little roasted grain, quite pleasant for style. Good, firm malts in the mouth, very light in body and flat in feel. Chocolate, mild roast, dry woody notes and a very subtle hint of tangy cola and diacetyl (not too alarming) show with good effect. Finish has a gentle malt bitterness before trailing off dry with not much length. Easy drinking, very light and enough in it to keep it interesting. A nice Mild ale.

Sampled cask conditioned. Chestnut brown. Murky, fruity aroma. Light bodied. Roasty flavour. Sparkling and light mouthfeel. Hint of toffee. Average bitterness in the finish. An unusually complex and flavourful beer for being only 3.5%. This brewery is something extra!

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Battersea Beer Festival.
Dakr dark translucent red with a thin white rim. Really nice colour for a mild. Really pleasant coffee malt that is typically thin but very drinkable and with just enough character to keep your interest. Straight down the line but solid mild.

Cask, GBBF 06. Lots of chocolate, big coffee malt. Very dark ruby, small white head. Chocolate, cream, sourness in flavour. Palate malty dryness.

Cask - Fur & Feather, Woodbastwick. A dark reddish brown brew and perhaps a slight breeze of cloudiness. For the ABV, this beer has several nuances. The aroma is very pleasing, of a roasted malt and subtle fruity undertones. The flavours - more roasted malts, some toffee and a hint of dark chocolate - come through and compliment each other nicely without getting in each other’s way, so to speak. This brew’s downside is that it’s slightly thin/watery and the finish is quite short. Apart from that, Mardler’s is another tasty beer from Woodfordes.

Founded in 1981 Woodforde’s have established themselves in Britain as a quality producer of traditional real ales, winning several major awards. They are a cask ale producer, although a limited number of bottle conditioned ales are available direct from the brewery. This is a very flavoursome Mild, a beer style that was almost in danger of vanishing but has seen a resurgence of interest lately. Full of roasty flavours with some dark fruit, this is a very refreshing and satisfying brew. Cask - Canterbury Beer Festival.

Cask Conditioned at The Fur and Feather, Woodbastwick, Norfolk. Dark brown beer with malty head. Smooth fruity, if thin mild. Mid roasted malts with a cherry like background.
