Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also Bottle Conditioned.
Originally the house beer for Limes Hotel in Fakenham.
Ingredients: Maris Otter; Crystal malt; Goldings hops. Tasting notes: A full-bodied pale amber beer with the rich flavour of Dundee cake. Sultana fruitiness is balanced by a hoppy bitterness, to give a full, but light feel. The finish continues to develop into a warm, mellow glow

Tasting notes from 2004 Banbury Beer festival. Amber with medium head. Fruit, hops, and woody aroma. Citrus, biscuit, mild sweet fruit, and balancing hops. Full-bodied with dry, hop finish. Nice session bitter.

Cask-conditioned at the Knights Templar (JDW), Bristol 30/3/08. Deep amber coloured with a decent white head. Aroma of red fruit and grassy hops. Malty flavour with some citrus fruit and a touch of caramel. Good.

Sampled as M&S Norfolk bitter - sweet and fruity. Lacking a bit of hops, but plenty of malt. Pretty good

500ml bottle of M&S Norfolk Bitter. Gold with a thin white head, slightly hazy; citrus aroma with disturbing farmyard hints; soft and full-bodied with a smooth syrupy mouthfeel; rounded bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Hazy gold with a creamy white head; pear and apple flavours; dry finish. Not very inspiring.

Cask - Fur & Feather, Woodbastwick. Nelson’s Revenge from Woodfordes is a clear amber brew with a scarce hint of a head. There is a welcoming dose of both hop and malt aromas to the nose. On the tongue it delivers a welcome malt taste with a proportional hop finish. I certainly have no complaints about this, another rather agreeable beer, from Woodfordes.

Draught (Pickerel Inn, Cambridge) Amber, sparkler head. Lightly hoppy aroma. Zesty bitter taste. Pleasant sweet maltiness. Maybe emasculated by the sparkler. Hint of mushroom.
