| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 9, 2007 Bottle. Pours a dark brown. Yeasty, slightly spicy aroma with a fair bit of alcohol. Sweet malt and lots of yeast to taste, not much hopping. Didn’t taste in the best condition but was quite drinkable. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 13, 2007 Claims to be best before 10/08. Pours burgundy and dense. Completely still. A heavy hit of port aroma with some other pungent fruits and thick malt. Rich, gooey caramel and toffee with some burnt sensations on the tongue. Finishes like an expired red wine that wasn’t spectacular to begin with. Palate is oily, flat and dirty, though its intense sweetness never surrenders. Heavily and inarguably oxidized. Almost surely a bad bottle. Thanks anyway, Phil. JJClark (546), Roscoe, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 9, 2007 Bottle from trade with Boutip. Thanks Phil! Pours a murky brown color with almost no head at all. Aroma of prunes, malt and a hint of chocolate. Taste is similiar but with an odd flavor that I can’t quite put my finger on. Finishes with a bit of flat aftertaste. Marsiblursi (1653), Göteborg, Sweden

Aroma of strawberry yoghurt, dried fruits like raisins and some raspberries. Malty with notes of caramel, light chocolate and fudge. Some warming alcohol, but very soft aroma. Fruity and fudge like flavour with lingering dried fruit and sweet malt aftertaste of caramel and toffee. Some warming alcohol. Soft, velvety mouthfeel from ageing. Perfect body. harrisoni (6832), Ashford, Kent, England

Choc toffee aroma, more choc toffee in mouth. Simple, one dimensional strong beer, no great complexity, choc is ok. shp555 (1690), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 26, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark amber color with ruby tones. No carbonation, a flat appearance. Unusual aroma of leather, furniture polish and distant malts. Taste is dry and leathery with flavors of stale plantain chips, barley, furniture polish and what appears to be strange tasting malts. Don’t know if this beer went bad or what, but it was very unusual all around. thebeertourist (2822), Oslo, Norway
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 24, 2007 Bottle. Completely black with a very small light brown head. Sugary aroma, reminding me of banana skin. Flavours are sweet, too, with banana skin, dark fruit, though with long and persistent bitterness. Full-bodied. An interesting old ale, though more original than world-class.
