Poured from the bottle, dark and tar-like in its appearance. A rich winey aroma. Flavour is coffeeish and sweet. Palate is amazingly mellow - a fine after dinner drink.

Bottle conditioned. Dark brown with rubyish hues, with very sparse, soon gone, off-white head. Aroma has dark fruit, malt, wood, chocolate with a hint of alcohol. Flavour is vinous and almost smokey, plus the aroma elements (accentuated wood taste). Soft, full, flatish, slightly oily mouthfeel; which is not completely to my liking. However, still very good.

Pours dark brown with a fine tan head. Roasted malt and coffee aroma. Notes of fruit and a warming tone of alcohol. Sweet chocolaty and malty flavor with a good fruityness and notes of orange and pineapple. Some bitterness also and hints of prune and raisin. Really nice.

A red-brown beer with a disappearing brown head. The aroma has quite strong notes of alcohol, that are not hidden by the notes of wood and prunes, that it also contains. The flavor has strong notes of prunes as well as lesser notes of raisins and wood, the end is dry from both the alcohol and the wood. It has good body and really gives You the warmth.

(Bottle 33 cl) Mahogany with a warm reddish glow. Delicious, creamy, light brown head. Dried, sweet fruit in the nose. Very vinous, port-like body with lots of dried fruit in the flavour and perhaps also a touch of chocolate. Soft mouthfeel, a little flat with a rather dry, short bitterness in the finish. 300605 & 110606
