| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 8, 2003 Bottled. My bottle was severely over conditioned, requiring pours into two separate, large belgian glasses. Brown with an aggressive white head, speckled with yeast. I don’t know how Duff and Blimey drank this on the Tube but respect gentlemen. Picking up from Joet, this has definite dry soya presence. Gritty and challenging, the bitter sweetness becomes too much work at the end. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 5, 2003 Updated: Nov 24, 2005OK, i had this in two places, on The Tube with Beerlimey and i brought a bottle back for the Sydney guys to try. I liked it both times, liked the taste of caramel/choc and acid. I also will hop on the bandwagon with the other raters who thought it tasted Belgian, spot on i reckon. Nice minerally sourness, an interesting, well-made beer, really easy to enjoy. Re-rate: 2005 vintage???? Very nice with whiskey-like smokeyness and definite touches of licorice and some chocolate and coffee, very smooth, yet the alochol warmth comes through in the end. joet (1709), Fulton, California, USA
