A red-brown beer with a disappearing brown head. The aroma has quite strong notes of alcohol, that are not hidden by the notes of wood and prunes, that it also contains. The flavor has strong notes of prunes as well as lesser notes of raisins and wood, the end is dry from both the alcohol and the wood. It has good body and really gives You the warmth.

(Bottle 33 cl) Mahogany with a warm reddish glow. Delicious, creamy, light brown head. Dried, sweet fruit in the nose. Very vinous, port-like body with lots of dried fruit in the flavour and perhaps also a touch of chocolate. Soft mouthfeel, a little flat with a rather dry, short bitterness in the finish. 300605 & 110606

33 cL bottle, courtesy of fonefan. Pours dark brown with a light orange glare and a diminished white head. Roasted malty and light fruity aroma. Sweet caramel and roasted malt flavour with a mild acidic note and quite dark fruity, yet not heavy. Mild infection it seems. Lingering roasted malty and light fruity finish.

Bottled, thanks rauchbier!
Going side to side with J.W.Lees Harvest Ale was tough for this beer. It poured very dark brown and formed a rich head. Raspberries and fruits were predominant in the aroma. It was sweet and relatively malty with some depth. It had notes of chocolate and wood, as well as a punch of rhum. A good, complex beer, sure, but fell short in this comparison.

Bottle. Hazy orange coloured with an off white head. Strange acidic flavour with notes of fruits, dried fruits and caramel. Flavour of fruits, caramel and dried fruits. Weird.

Dark color, quite poor head. The nose is not impressive: malt, alcohol, brandy, apple. Average mouthfeel, a bit drier than expected, with quite strong liquorice, ending with a bold caramel and bitter almonds (and light phenol). Less than I expected, but thanks a lot to Jens (Ungstrup) for this bottle.
