Commercial Description:
A beautiful deep brown hue and a nutty sweetness identify this style of ale from Northern England. Although malt and caramel flavor dominate, hops provide a medium level of bitterness at the finish.

Had this with the Downtown Grill & Brewery sampler. It was my favorite. It was very smooth and had good flavor.

Stopped in after the Xmas Eve^3 at tronraner’s. Clear amber brown with light tan lacing. Sweet raisin malt nose. Flavor is caramel malt and citrus with a perfumey hop finish. Not too nutty actually.

Poured a dark red/brown from the tap with a one finger off white head. The aroma was sweet, with nut and caramel notes. The flavor was nutty, with caramel malt and an earthy hop finish.

Ruby brown with a thin tan head. Nice lacing though. Sweet aroma, lightly nutty malt. Tastes are nutty, some chocolate, very bock like, some toasty caramel malt, although overall, very watery.

This beer’s flavor was hidden amongst a bit of water. It has hints of nuttiness with slight hops in the finish. Very little lace in the glass upon finishing. Simple beer.

aroma of nutty coffee. But not very strong. Flavor is much the same. More pronounced though. Strong malt profile. Very good nut brown
