| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 10, 2008 Golden-amber color. Aroma is bready, sweet and caramelish with some subtle citrus and floral hops. Flavor was of a subdued citra-floral hoppy nature with way too much sweet malts. Either way too old or not hop forward enough. MaltOMeal (653), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2007 12 oz bottle from trade with TheBeerCellar. Pours a clear orange-amber with a very thin off-white head. Some irregular lacing. Aroma was pine hops with some sweet malt. Flavor was more malt than expected with a strong hop taste. Mouthfeel was medium with some carbonation and a good bitter aftertaste. Seemed just a tad hoppier than an IPA, probably because of the added malt. Jmichael (633), Asheville, North Carolina, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 18, 2007 Bottle. Thanks to TBC for sending me this one. First of all I didn’t even know this was a DOUBLE IPA. I knew it was and IPA but could not smell or taste anything that would resemble a IIPA. Aroma is light hops - faint, caramel. Flavor is caramel, light hops and a sweet malty body. The 8.5% alcohol wasn’t noticable anywhere in this beer. A very cloying beer but decent. kmweaver (2484), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 14, 2007 12oz bottle, courtesy of TheBeerCellar. Thanks, Matt! Pours a clear, medium orange-amber color; fizzy off-white head with decent retention and lacing. Tons of caramel and candy sugar and sticky hops in the aroma; forthcoming but messy. Solid jolt of carbonation and citrus on the tip of the tongue, but most of the feel afterwards is a malt bomb: some mineral / citrus hoppiness persists, but nothing fresh or resiny; mostly biscuity malts and unresolved dried fruits and sugar; also, sugar. One-dimensional hop and malt profiles. Old? Medium, sticky hop and doughy finish. Dansting (222), Overland Park, Kansas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 13, 2007 Bottle. Poured a clear copper color with a medium white head. Nice lacing. Mouthfell is excellent. Aroma was hoppy with a nice sweet maltiness to it as well. Flavor is sweeter and maltier than most IPAs, with some caramel tastes to it. Finish is hoppy with a nice citrus bite. A pretty good IPA, although the flavor seemed more like a pale ale to me. Thanks to TheBeerCellar for this one! tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2007 12oz bottle from TheBeerCellar. Faint aroma of citrus (grapefruit) and grainy malt. Pours amber with a creamy off-white head. Pleasant flavor but quite simple. Some sweet honey at first then some mild bittering, grassy hops. Medium bodied. Finishes rather dry. Simple and inoffensive. Double IPA? Really? brewblackhole (1385), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 29, 2007 Aroma was surprisingly inticing,a combination of citrus and floral hops,so rich and encompassing that not much malt comes through, flavor however doesn’t deliver all that rich hop taste, hop taste just a little muddled, with a metallic tang bouncing around. May be getting old. Probaly almost a 4.0 when fresh. Thanks Kingpin
