Pours a dark hazy amber color with an average size beige head. Aroma is bold and more like a Double IPA than just an IPA. Bottle just says IPA...Grapefuit, pine, fruity esters, yeast and a lot of alcohol. Tastes like a mini Double IPA. Starts off with some sweet malt, then some orange and pine, and a dry crisp orange/grapefruit finish. Very balanced. porterhouse (1164), Alna, Maine, USA

Pours a slightly hazy burnt orange with about 1/2" of creamy and soft orange-tinted biscuit head that stays quite well. Aroma of sugar candy but not overly sweet. Nice lacing. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, lightly dry and prickly. Flavor is a bit less than expected, based on aroma and appearance - perhaps some light caramelly malt overlain by some mildly piney bitterness. Nice but not spectacular. Alcohol well-hidden. JPDIPSO (4944), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 13, 2006 Clear, light amber color with a moderate off-white head. Citrus grove aromas, with grapefruit zest and a touch of pine tree bark. Very piney in flavor with a near solvent and soap finish/linger. For some reason this had "Pinesol" flavors that distracted (even detected by the other person I tried this with). A mid echelon IPA in my book. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 10, 2006 Clear copper body, frothy off-white head.
Aroma and taste has orange hopped stale saltines with some sweet caramel added to flavor. Body is a bit too fizzy. Okay beer. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 31, 2006 Orange pour with only a white film on top. Aroma is mostly light. Caramel malt with only a mild dose of hops. The flavor shows for more of the malt then the hops. I was expecting IIPA and I got a pale ale with too much alcohol. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Aromas of orange, pineapple and a touch of grapefruit over some light caramel malts. Good balanced flavor of orange and pineapple with just a bit of grapefruit over caramel malts and some light toffee.. Some earthy flavors tucked in there too. Medium body with not a bunch of carbonation and a good mouthfeel with a bitter finish. Nice solid brew.. shrubber85 (3014), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 19, 2006 Bottle. Fantastic pineapple, orange and pine hops aroma. Hazy dak amber color with moderate head. Subdued flavor - orange and pineapple with a gradually building hops finish - I really like this because it doesn’t have that ’in your face’ hops flavor from the onset, but that would probably be a negative for those who love a giant hops flavor. nolankowal (855), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Aug 17, 2006 Bottle courtesy of TheBeercellar2. Pours a nice copper color with a yellowish and lasting creamy/fothy head. The aroma seems to be hreavily in favor of caramel malt with lingering piney hops somewhere in there and perhaps a bit of peat? The flavor is also full of the sweet caramel malt, a bit of smoke, with the hops actually shwing some real presence torwards the back, pine and a bit of grass. The mouthfell is a tad thin for my taste, sweet and bready in the front, almost nothing in the middle and the bitter hoppiness teamed with an boozey warmth in the back through the finish. THere’s some nice alluring things about this brew, the only problem is is that not all of them pan out so well. A big malty aroma gives way to a sorta thin mouthfeel . Overall though, it’s a pretty solid, drinkable beer despite a few framework faults.
