pope_phred (125), Plainfield, Illinois, USA Oct 1, 2008 BoTMC Selection September 2008: Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pour produced a light brown body with a small, tan head, which diminished fully. No lacing. Slight hops to the aroma, but that’s about it. Light mouthfeel and carbonation, sweet at the outset with a mild bitter aftertaste. Slight toastiness to the palate, and not much else. Overallm this isn’t offensive, but there are better beers to be had. Nejhleader (791), Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 27, 2008 average brown ale, maybe with a little caramel to it, and had an roast element to it to, body a bit thin. no aroma keepersj12 (428), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Sep 23, 2008 Very average brown ale. Not a lot of aroma. Taste is nutty, bready. Mouth feel is very thin. Easy drinking though but not a lot here. CaryTheDude (290), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Sep 21, 2008 Dude, this beer has like no nose at all. Bready and kinda nutty flavor. I keep reading how many awards this guy has won, and I just think...huh? Goes down easily, but there’s not much to it.
