Light-sweet, delicately roasted malty aroma, slightly leafy with notes of chocolate, coffee and a shy whiff of herbal hops. Light-bitter flavour with shades of acidity, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Roast-malty taste with chocolate, liquorice and traces of coffee; quite dry and moderately roasty, slightly bitter finish (12.05.08). JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium Mar 10, 2008 Well-balanced black beer, quaffable yet has some character. Half-liter bottle pours black, mahogany highlights, decent tan head. Light, malty nose is sweet, bready, slightly roasty. Lightly sweet flavor fades into a lightly bitter, roasted taste, with pumpernickel, chocolate and fainter coffee notes. Faintly roasty aftertaste. Nice for washing down a burger. Love to try it fresh on draft some day. ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark Feb 21, 2008 Deep reddish colour with a dense beige head.
