(bottle) Pitch black coloured hue with a thick and slowly lacing beige foamy head. Light-sweet, delicately roasted malty aroma, slightly leafy with notes of chocolate, coffee and a shy whiff of herbal hops. Light-bitter flavour with shades of acidity, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Roast-malty taste with chocolate, liquorice and traces of coffee; quite dry and moderately roasty, slightly bitter finish (12.05.08).

Bottle. Almost black with a beige head. Aromas are light chocolate with sweet coffee. Malty with sweet mollasses and metal hints. Flavours are light chocolate malts with a smoky roast character. Has spices, cola and liquorice. Also has hints of curry (strangely). Addictive salt towards the finish. Quite light in flavour but a lot going on.

Bottled. A black coloured lager with a nice white head which lasts a fair amount of time. The aroma is malty and a touch sweet. A little light roastiness also. The taste is quite roasty, and there is a little bit of chocolate. Quite stout-like in many ways. Drinkable and tasty. A decent schwarzbier.
