Very nice strong malt flavor with the barest hint of molasses/treacle - very little sweetness. Very full palate. Next to no bitterness. An extremely good Schwarzbier. (Drank from bottle at Wuerzburg Hofbrau so this was extremely fresh). wilkie (1192), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

Poured nearly black with a big brown head. Nose of heavy malt witih a hint of chocolate and coffee. Very good in the mouth, and smooth going down. A very excellent example of the type. larsga (2980), Oslo, Norway

Deep, dry toffee/raisin taste, which in the aftertaste dries up. An excellent schwarzbier. Taste could have lingered longer, though. (0.5l bottle.) guzzler (77), AE, Germany
