Head is initially average sized, frothy/creamy, white, mostly lasting.
Body is hazy medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted bread/grain), lightly yeasty (dough, basement).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation.
Pretty basic, straightforward rendition that doesn’t show that much character. It relies mostly on its malt in the nose, and although it’s pretty simple it’s pleasant. Good balance too, but the best things about it are its appearance and creamy mouthfeel. A 40 min (or so) walk from the train station that didn’t pay off as well as hoped, but still a fun quaff. shrubber85 (2833), Wallhalben, Germany Jul 8, 2004 Updated: May 18, 2008Only can get this beer at the Wuerzburg Hofbrau restaurant (at least it’s the only place I’ve seen it). Superb malty flavor. Good head - cloudy appearance. Great taste - smooth malty flavor - next to no bitterness. A great beer.
