Commercial Description:
Winter Warmer.
Bah Humbug is a 6% abv brew using not just the traditional malted barley and hops, but also a big sprinkling of cinnamon. The effect of the cinnamon is to give a spicy, almost banana-like flavour as often found on German wheat beers; and this blends with the sweet-honeyed flavours of the Maris Otter barley to create a beer with all the fruit flavours of mince pies, Christmas Pudding and Christmas cake all rolled into one.

Had it straight from the bottle, so I didn’t get the full impression, but it was a really enjoyable beer nonetheless. Lots of spices and flowery hops... cinnamon was big, really pushing the christmas vibe. I love christmas ales, and this one was a nice addition to the pantheon. My main complaint was that it was a little thin for my taste... or really, it wasn’t thick enough. A good, solid beer, though.

overall an ok beer. mild spices, none overpowering. The bottle I had was at least 8 months old, so maybe it lost a little, but it wasn’t that impressive, very bland.

Bottle, thanks to beerbill! Pours a deep red to regular brown colour with a tan head. Smell is fairly faint, mostly malty, not much hops to speak of. flavour is very sweet, and a little bit bitter. Not much flavour of hops, but plenty of bitterness. There is a bit of roastiness apparent. Carbonation is low, but nice. It’s a touch watery, but not too offensively so.
