(clear) Bottle. Looks like a typical stout. "Peppery dishwater" aroma was Andrew196's description, and I can't say it any better. Solid but uninteresting flavor. Slimy mouthfeel, bad finish. Drainpour.

Dark black and very little white foam head. Aroma is bland and somewhat skunked, malty. Flavor is smightly chalky from the initial bitterness, then follows rather boringly.

This beer is pretty sucky. Aroma of old, peppery dishwater. Appearance was typical for a stout, beige head, opaque in color, etc. Flavor had nothin doin'. Very boring and unoriginal, stale coffee. Mouthfeel was slimey and thin.

Dark stout, low head. Aromas of the black malts. Real good flavor with hints of laqurice. A little to thin.

Near black with a two tone head of tan bubbles. Weak coffee, caramel, toffee, toasted malt aroma; with an accent on weak. Syrup of tar flavors. Do I need at expound? OK, not a stout, maybe a strong mild at best. This one does not even warm up well. Points for a great label?

Bottled. Really dark. An IPA-like fresh hoparoma. Rather thin to be a stout. Flavour from coffee and/or dark chocolate.

Bottled. Almost black in colour with a light brown head. Sooty nose with notes of coffee and fruit. The flavour is sooty and fruity with a clear coffee taste, hints of oats and has a slight bitter finish.

Cask Conditioned, at the Hobgoblin, Holloway, London.
Dark brown with a thin tan head. Delicately sweet, soft aroma. Some sweetness to start but turns into a super dry and bitter finisher. Everything in this beer has been scorched to death. The palate and mouth feel is thin, more like a mild then a stout.
