Pitch black with a beige head. Fairly ashen aroma. Some licorice in the taste which gives way to a painfully dry finish. Smooth but a little thin. Just average.

Black body with a off-white head. Has aroma from fruits and some roasted malt. The taste is little bitter and has som coffee taste. Some malt. A boring stout.

18 Dec 05 - Sweetish roasted malt and some hop aroma. Clear dark brown colour, reasonable head and lacing. Roasted malt flavours but lacks a broader complexity. Up front bitterness that is a bit thin.

Points for style to Wychwood, but not for much else. This beer definately looks better than it tastes. Nothing offensive, just bland and way too thin for anything resembling a stout.

Couleur acajou aux reflets brun rouge. Cacao, chocolat et malt grillé en arôme. Malt sucré, vanille et foin en bouche. Corps d’épaisseur semi mince, finale amère semblant provenir de l’acidité du malt torréfié, semble plutôt aqueuse. Stout ??? Bouteille, LCBO, Janvier 2005.

The first thing that stood out to me about this beer is how thin it is. You feel like you are drinking black water. The aroma was decent, with typical coffe tones, but the flavor was extremely weak. I give it props for cool bottle art - but that’s all!

Poor head retention. Nothing special in this stout. I was originally excited, but it didn’t impress me that much.
