tastes better: roasted malt, some bitterness and some fruit, a little grassy. finishes more bitter and grassy. thin bodied. not so good(no coffee: well only a bit in the finishing part, no chocolate, a pity), a bland stout. Habanero (636), Tranbjerg, Denmark

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 19, 2009 Very black body with a large tan crown, walls of lacing left behind with every sip. Very mild aroma with mild burn chocolate campfire smoke and some coffee. Ckalky bitter mild taste, some chocolate, some ash the ash really lingers in the after taste. I can even detect hints of sweet vanilla. Taste overall is light and crisp making this a very easy drinking stout. nigos (620), Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 1, 2003 Chocolate and coffee malt aroma. Black coca cola colour with light brown head. Toasted malt flavour. A bit thin for a stout. Another average beer from Wychwood. MrRoss (617), Delta, British Columbia, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 16, 2009 Does Wychwood not have amongst the best/coolest labels and bottles going today? I particularly like this one, with the embossed broom-riding witches. I also note the cleavage on the label’s witch. Nice touch! This one poured a modest, light brown head and a very dark colour; it was damned near black. The aroma was chiefly coffee, and quite enjoyable. Taste was better than the mouthfeel, being again mostly coffee. PetetheMeat (549), Hove, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 12, 2004 Dark brown stout, with beige lasting head. Liqourice flavoured with some burned, toasted elements as well. A bit bitterness in the finish. Underlying sweetnes. Not quite the velvety palate that is promised on the label. Overall an average stout. TheBeerCollector (548), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 31, 2003 This is not my idea of a stout. It's more like a cross between a porter and a brown ale. Deep ruby red color with very little head retention. Balanced flavor with no real outstanding qualities. beerhugger (541), Oshawa, Ontario, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 18, 2004 A stout? Not in my mouth - pours like a dark ale, very dark with ruby edging and a thin frothy tan head. Not much aroma, although it had something resembling some coffee and malt. Same with the flavour - too thin by far and not a lot of richness. Mild coffee and chocolate and perhaps some licorice. Quick slightly bitter finish. Bland.
