Aroma coffee, chocolate, caramel, malt, all quite subdued. Thin mouthfeel, short finish. Did they say hops? Exactly how much is a broomful? Ingevara (528), Hindås, Sweden
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 3, 2005 High head, stiff and frothy, not creamy. The flavor is smooky and hints of coffee and chocolate. Hops are apparent and gives a nice bitterness. But it seems like a compromise. It’s not r e a l l y a stout, but okay. Wychwood has better brews. Choos (504), Taylors Hill, Australia
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 28, 2005 Aroma: olive, carbon and some hop. Apperance: black with red highlights clear, tan small head, patchy sud lacing. Flavour: carbon, sweet malt, hint of nut and notceable hop bitterness. Palate: bitter/carbon finish and thin. Jokingly my girlfriend has written "god damn HOT label!!!" on my tasting notes since it was visuallly so impressive (despite the clear bottle.) VeloVampire (491), Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 28, 2006 Updated: Dec 10, 2006500 ml bottle - pours a deep brown/black with a decent tan head. Faint notes of cocoa and fruits and very little else. And that’s trying really hard - there’s really nothing distinct in the aroma or taste that stand out. Taste of sour grapes and a hint of roasted malts and some bitterness, but not a hoppy bitter - not much here, thin and watery. There’s nothing, well, stout, about this stout - matter of fact, it’s more like a dark brown ale, and not a very good one at that. I wanted to love this beer, I really did - I like the gimmick and the bottle, but the thing that counts - what’s inside - sadly doesn’t deliver. Tessic (478), Brantford, Ontario, Canada

Hints of grass and instant coffee, almost like you've taken a teaspoon of instant coffee. Not good at all.

Overall a decent beer but there's better beer out there. albert007 (412), Penobsquis, New Brunswick, Canada
