Bottled. Really dark. An IPA-like fresh hoparoma. Rather thin to be a stout. Flavour from coffee and/or dark chocolate.

Black, nice head. Aroma is roasted and from tar and cocoa. Flavor brings licorice and cocoa. Not as good as many other stouts.

Bottled. Almost black in colour with a light brown head. Sooty nose with notes of coffee and fruit. The flavour is sooty and fruity with a clear coffee taste, hints of oats and has a slight bitter finish.

This stout poured a thin head, but it did not last very long. It did have excellent lacing. I do not enjoy the traditional strong coffee tasting stouts, but this stout was mild which was much to my liking. In fact, I told my bf, thedm, that given the chance I would definitely drink this one again!!

Poor example of the style. Other than the appearance the beer resembles a typical over bitter ale that the Wychwood brewery specialises in. Wither a below average ale or very poor stout.

Pleasantly surprised - expected skunk due to the clear bottle - but has a pleasant, slightly minty aroma. Dark licorice like pour with a mocha colored head with good lacing. Has some bittersweet chocolate notes in the flavor with trailing hop bitterness. Pickup some oatmeal hints as well. Not too complex, just a decent session stout. Mouthfeel is a tad too thin for a stout - my only real complaint.

Bottle. Black with flashes of red. Moderate shortlived beige head and moderate condition. Typical stout but a little on the thin side, roast coffee and chocolate aromas, roasted barley flavour and a dry chocolate powderlike finish with a little roastiness.

Dark and thick in the glass although I thought it was thin in the bottle. Creamy head. Aroma is thin with light roasted notes. Body texture is not overly thick. Flavour is not complex, consisting of a light dry roastiness and smoke. Not a classic but better than many of the ratings.
