Jul 9, 2004 Skunky grain aroma. Clever label, but Wychwood has *got* to shake that clear bottle. Pretty dry, somewhat hoppy and rye cracker-like. Unremarkable. Body is too light. Coffee bitter finish goes on for a while.

Dec 19, 2002 A very thin beer claiming to be a stout. No head and a very dark color. Okay toasted flavor but all in all pretty weak. Weak flavor but not totally bad. Far below average for a stout, but not a totally bad beer.

Sep 17, 2003 Cask Conditioned, at the Hobgoblin, Holloway, London.
Dark brown with a thin tan head. Delicately sweet, soft aroma. Some sweetness to start but turns into a super dry and bitter finisher. Everything in this beer has been scorched to death. The palate and mouth feel is thin, more like a mild then a stout.

Feb 6, 2006 Bottle. Weak aroma with a hint of liquorice. Almost black colour, small stable head. The flavour is roasted, perhaps roast barley. Weak liquorice flavour. High carbonation. Quite boring.

Nov 23, 2005 Black body with a off-white head. Has aroma from fruits and some roasted malt. The taste is little bitter and has som coffee taste. Some malt. A boring stout.

May 7, 2004 Black color with some brown hues. Mild aroma of roasted malt. Mild flavor of roasted malt. A very average stout, I’m not a fan of this brewery, the beers I’ve tasted from them range from ordinary to awfull : Hobgoblin, Fiddler’s elbow and this one.

Sep 27, 2005 Light aroma: some malt and light hoppiness. Average size frothy off-white head produces good lacing but is fully diminishing. Flavour is lightly bitter with some sweetness in the finish, a little bland, but I enjoy strong flavoured stouts. Average length finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

May 2, 2006 Hints of coffee and sweet dark bread in the aroma as well as taste. Very dark in color. Quite bitter and suprisingly thin and waterlike. No viscosity which is odd, since it is a stout. To be honest, neihter very bad nor very good.
