Liqourice flavoured with some burned, toasted elements as well. A bit bitterness in the finish. Underlying sweetnes. Not quite the velvety palate that is promised on the label. Overall an average stout. BeerBiker (1392), Kathmandu, Nepal

Smoky/roasted aroma with hints of caramel. Roasted malt in taste with hints of licorace. Mostly roast in the aftertaste. iambeer (255), Ontario, Canada

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 30, 2006 I’m going to call this a stout that someone dumped a bottle of lager into. First off it didn’t have the typical black, opaque colour of a stout, rather a dark brown that was lighter around the edges. Taste was way too light for a stout. Had some elements like coffee, some sweetness (toffee?) and a subtle bitterness as well. Aroma was caramel and malts. PorterPounder (3138), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Dark licorice like pour with a mocha colored head with good lacing. Has some bittersweet chocolate notes in the flavor with trailing hop bitterness. Pickup some oatmeal hints as well. Not too complex, just a decent session stout. Mouthfeel is a tad too thin for a stout - my only real complaint.
