Commercial Description:
Pasteurised Bottle. Sold as Scarecrow in the USA.
"Circle Master is brewed using a unique blend of Plumage Archer Barley Malt, organically grown for us in a dedicated field under the auspices of the Prince of Wales Duchy Estate in Gloucestershire. Whole leaf target hops, naturally grown in a single garden in Kent, are added to create a beer of exceptionally taste and character. A tantalising citrus aroma heralds a delightful malt flavour, rounded off with a spicy bittersweet finish."

The very definition of mediocre. Nothing exactly wrong with it, except perhaps for a very faint, unpleasant aroma; just not much there. Slight taste of british hops and malt in a light amber beer; that’s about it. You hardly taste it after a bit. Expensive, too; perhaps the worst value I’ve ever seen in a beer (at least here in the U.S.)

Amber with a thin head, arome and taste not nice, did not enjoy this and is not one I will be looking out for in the future.

Bottle purchased at an Albany area bottle shop. Tasted as if it had skunked. Supposed to be a bitter, but there was no refreshment to be found here. The aroma and the flavor were off - ruining the beer. Perhaps clear bottles aren’t the best choice.

Pale golden pour. Thin, fast fading white head. The nose has a little bit of crackery pale malt character. There is a little bit of fruit and an oddly perceptible alcoholic nose. The flavour is fairly fruity however with a lingering estery character. The body is quite thin though… meh.

50cl bottle poured into a pint glass. Pale gold with a small head. Light citrus aroma. Flavor is malty with a strong hop bite. Finish is pleasantly bitter with a light citrusy twang at the very end.

Serving date: 2009-03-08. Served in pint glass. Best before 2009-09-17. Very hazy. Apricot colored, Rather big, off-white head, medium head retention. Some lacings. Looks quite good. The smell is mostly of sweet malts, some semi-tart fruits (blackberries, some grapefruit), faint notes of tobacco. Noticeable fudge. Pleasant smell. Plenty of caramel malty flavors. Some minerals. Vague sweet fruit flavors (gooseberries, clementine, lemon peel). White bread. There’s basically no bitterness in this brew. The finish is very short, and uninteresting (restrained malts and some floral hop aromas). The taste is a big disappointment compared to the smell. Plenty of carbonation and too sharp bubbles. Moderate body. Feels pointless in the mouth. This beer is on a steady downhill slope from a very good looks and a pleasant, to a decent taste, boring finish and very dull mouthfeel. This is ok, barely. Serving type: bottle (Copy of old Beer Advocate review)

Pours a clear golden color with very little head. Smell is light malt, grass and hay, with a touch of lemon and spice. The flavor is light, with breadiness and a bit of spicy hop flavors. More citrus shows up with a bit of a sour in the aftertaste.
