| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Appearance is a dark copper and clear with minimal head. Sweet malty aroma with tons of caramelly, bubblegum aroma and some toast and rising bread aromas as well. Flavor is not as sweet as the aroma lets on giving the brew a somewhat thin texture. The roasted malts come on a bit stronger during a moderately bitter finish. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 30, 2009 Bottle from New Beer Dist. in NYC. Pours a clear, dark brown with ruby tints and a light, large-bubble, quickly dissipating head. Very slight aroma with hints of sweet malts and brown sugar. Flavor is medium-rich with decent complexity. Some detectable roasted malt character with sweet notes of caramel, earth and hazelnuts. A tad of bitterness on the swallow. A nice, lightly hoppy aftertaste accompanied by some burnt malt. Pretty tasty overall. Would make a nice seesioner. BigBeer45 (694), Troy, Michigan, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Bottle, no BBD found,
has a clear dark pour and is a red-ruby in the glass with red-brown hues at the sides of the glass, produced an off-white one to two finger high head that flattens to a ring and broken cover and left some lacing on the glass,
aromas of toasted and roasted malt, caramel sweetness, hints of chocolate, earth and wood fragrances from Fuggle hops,
flavors are pretty much the same as the aromas with a touch of bread mixed in, has a mild bitterness at the finish,
this drinks starts with a caramel like sweetness and ends dry at the finish,
less than medium mouth feel, light carbonation and easy to drink, a good Mild Ale.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 26, 2009 500 ml bottle poured into a Hobgoblin pint glass. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized long lasting off white head. It has a cola and nut aroma along with the aroma of malt. It tastes of nut, coffee, cola, brown sugar and date with a little taste of earth and vegetables. I’m almost 100% certain that this is a brown ale and not a ESB like ratebeer says it is. This is a pretty good beer in my opinion. I’m pretty sure I’ll drink this one again. Cybercat (797), Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Pours a dark, clear cinnamon brown with a thick and fairly persistent off-white head. Aroma is crisp and malty and just slightly spicy. Flavor is fairly malty with an undertone of molasses and hints of cloves and cinnamon. Texture is quite smooth and pleasant, only slightly fizzy but it does leave a nice tingle and a slightly spicy finish.
