Mes_and_Sim (3927), London, Greater London, England May 12, 2008 A Mes rate: Cask at the Gatehouse ’Sporks.Murky copper with a washing up liquid head. Bland sweetish malt aroma. Equally bland flavour full of tart tobacco. Unpleasant apple in the finish. Another cracker from Wychwood.
bobinlondon (207), Harrow, Greater London, England Jul 13, 2008 Handpulled cask at JDW Stanmore duing recent international beer fest. Copper with bubbly head anf fair conditioning. Quite pleasant for one of my least favoured breweries. An easy drinking bitter, unchallenging but with no unpleasent flavours. leaparsons (3798), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Apr 24, 2008 Cask, The Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Amber brown with a dense white foam. Aromas are citrus and spices with some sulphur. Flavours are caramel and biscuit malts with citrus and pear. Quite smooth with a peppery and fairly dry finish. Hints of sulphur. Decent. hughie (2054), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Apr 2, 2008 Cask at Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford, in Wetherspoons Real Ale Festival. Copper colour with a white head. Citrus hop aroma. Biscuity. Bitter finish. Not much to write home about. Certainly failed to ’banish the winter blues’. Magic_dave6 (3476), Glasgow, Scotland Apr 1, 2008 Cask in counting house. Aroma is nutty, burnt and says im a wychwood beer. Taste is similar, uninspiring, passes me by.
