Cheers to Hogtown Harry for letting his country provide me with Canada’s best apple cider! Green bottle with a twist off cap. Aroma is a little apple and winelike. Appearance is clear very very pale yellow with nothing bubbling within. Taste is certainly of apples and not overly sweet. No hint of alky what so ever in the flavors. Easy to drink and easy to like. Good tingly carbonation. Friendly and well mannered. Tart and relatively dry. Very good brew with no after taste on the finish. Has some background hints of harsh alky peeking thru.

Picked up single 12-oz bottle at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a clear golden apple cider with a thin bubbly ring and no head. Aroma of sweet apple cider and apple skin, some yeast and a touch of leather. Taste is light bodied, semi-tart with flavors of tar apple and apple skin with a finish of semi-dry character and some alcohol texture.

This is my favourite Wyder’s cider and the first cider I ever had. It has a pretty good flavour, but it is still too mild and there is too much emphasis on sweetness.

Who makes good cider?? Not these guys. Lots of chemical and musty apple flavor. Astringent and overcarbonated. Yuck.

Wyder’s is drinkable; that’s about all I can say (definitely better than Woodchuck). It’s really not too sickly sweet for a cider, but it’s still a really boring pour and taste (carbonated, alcoholic apple juice). Wyder’s is probably an ideal drink for your girlfriend if she’s not really into craft beers. (I should also say that I am ranking this in relation to beer-beers, not just other ciders.)

Strange aroma. There’s apple, but my nose gets the same physical feeling as imparted by a light whiff of chlorox. Very light gold color with no head worth mentioning. A bit thin in body; almost creamy carbonation. The flavor is mature apple, with very little sugar. The finish is not really astringent, but it’s fairly dry. The mouth is left as though it were sucking green and gold apple skins - from ripe apples. Good drink. Shame my nose thinks it’s weird.

It’s hard to rate a cider against beer, so I decided to rate this against other hard ciders I’ve had. It definitely ranks at the worst of the ciders I’ve enjoyed (nothing close to Woodchuck or Strongbow). This cider doesn’t have anything in common with Magner’s/Bulmer’s, since that cider is closer to true cider whereas this is more like apple juice. Decent apple aroma and flavor, perhaps a bit too sweet though. Thirst quenching and a great beverage on those early Saturday mornings when you want to start with a light jog before entering true beer-rating territory. Not bad, and doesn’t make me feel like an alcoholic!

Bottle from Trader Joe’s. Poured clear amber color with a small white head with minimal lacing. Aroma and flavor of apple juice. Light body with a dry texture. Refreshing drink. Worth drinking once or over ice to quinch your thirst.
