Bottled. Clear gold rimmed with white. Aroma grassy hops with a sniff of almond, celery and sweet malt. Mellow leafy hops with vague citrus, celery and pale malt. Forgettable.

Cask-conditioned at the Inn on the Green, Bristol. Bright gold coloured with a decent white head that left plenty of lacing. Aroma of hay and grassy hops. Flavour had some sweet malt and citrus with a decent dry finish. Has a lot more character than most English golden ales.

A buxom full bodied ale, the quality you’d expect from Wye Valley brewery. Clean taste, no nasty afters.... works well with roasted badger with a tureen of otter giblets and vole outings on an autumnal afternoon.

500ml bottle from Threshers - bottle conditioned. Warm gold colour with a rampant loose cream coloured head; heady aromas of honey, citrus and caramel; quite sharp citrus flavour to start, then the sweetness develops and overtakes; leaving a sticky, sweet caramel finish, with a slightly burnt dryness. An impressive beer - and the labels not bad either!

Cask. Pale amber with a good size white head. Little scent, slightly hoppy. Quite bitter and also quite sweet. Citrus fruit, caramel and some malt but a bit too sweet for my taste.

500 ml bottle courtesy of geth_in_beer. Pale golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma is a bit muted on this one, though. Light pale malt and a bit of straightforward earthy hops. Moderate bitterness with a soft earthy finish. A bit pithy.
