mgermani (862), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Aug 19, 2009 Pours a pitch black with a light brown head and some lace. Thin, lightly sweet aroma - nothing much here. Very chocolaty taste, much like Murphy’s - sweet but not cloying, and otherwise quite dry (slightly oaty). Light creamy character - not particularly thick, light carb. Pleasant enough. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Jun 7, 2009 Pretty run of the mill stout. A bit nutty, and some slight roasted coffee flavors, with a bit of a milky characteristic toward the finish. Decent, but certainly not spectacular Beth101 (315), West Yorkshire, England Jun 5, 2009 Dark dark brown with a large off white head aroma of malt tastes bitter, nutty and smooth. PJClarke (609), London, Greater London, England Jun 2, 2009 Bottle:
Very dark red, permanent beige head. Quite unfortunate metallic aromas smells a little like manure. Pig manure on the tongue disappears quickly to some blinding chocolate flavours. The chocolate is oined by deep roasted malts in the finish which stretches out for a while. A bit of a tingle on the tongue. Not a bad one at all really. Some unfortunate characters but it holds up quite well. JohnnyJ (1282), Carlsbad, California, USA May 30, 2009 Very mediocre dry stout. Brown pour, large fizzy head. Roasted malt, smoke, light chocolate. Not very flavorful.
