Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
Wholesome Stout, which was voted Supreme Champion at the CAMRA Winter Beer Festival 2002 is produced using only the finest ingredients available. They include Pale malt with roasted barley which produces a rich dark colour. Flaked barley is used to create a full and creamy head. The Stout is flavoured with Northdown hops which give a dry resinous taste.

Cask@Beer Hunters, Pori. Almost opaque, very dark ruby color, nice steady tan head. Roasted and a bit sweetish berry-like aroma. Roasted, coffeish stout with bitter aftertaste. Long bitter and roasty aftertaste. Nice dry stout.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 3 Aug) Colour is pitch black with a beige frothy head. Nose is roasted with chocolate, hints of smoke and raw fish. Taste is roasted with coffee, dark bitter chocolate and a long bitter finish with notes of cocoa. Smooth and very well balanced. Very nice! Cheers Dorothy!

Cask at GBBF 06’: mediocre stout, roasted, some sourish notes, a bit watery body, head that disappears quickly, some weak dried fruits notes, some chocolaty notes. quite boring actually.

Cask conditioned – handpump – GBBF. A pretty much black coloured beer with a good roasty burnt malts aroma. The taste has good roasted malts with some chocolate and coal. Some fruit comes through also. A beer which I have had before in absolute tip-top mid 4s condition. Just not quite as good this time

Cask (@The Harkers Arms, Chester): Almost black coloured, small, very firm, lacing head; sourish malt, molasses and fruit (raisins) in the nose; dry (roast-)bitter flavour; fruity, a bit vinous and pretty roast-bitter (coffee) finish. A good one.....
