| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 8, 2004 Bottle: Deep brown hue with rocky tan head and good lace. The aroma has notes of coffee, burnt malts, bittersweet mocha, lactic sourness, aromatic hops, and dusty yeast esters. The taste starts with a bittersweet overtone with a kicker of coffee on the finish. A bit or prune and nut show as well. The feel is thin and lively, cardboard finish. A underwhelming dry stout with some nice bitters and coffee tones, but not enough sweet malts, quaffable I guess. MartinKubert (862), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 25, 2004 Aroma is the worst aspect of this beer. Appearance is black with a moderate tan head. Flavor is a little one dimensional. Very bitter with a roasted malt flavor. This one certainly fits in the dry stout group. Overall a nice beer. And the girl on the bottle is hot which is an added plus! fly (1332), austin, Tejas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 19, 2004 Keep having the words Ern wrote when I mentioned picking up a bottle of this in Colorado - you could have chosen a Deepshaft. Well, luckily I did have one of those at home - & didn't come across one in Denver or Boulder. All the better that I'm using all this space on another stout as this one brings little to mind for comment. The lable? One of the better aspects. What happened here? Or more to the point - what DIDN'T? Syd (903), Waconia, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 29, 2004 Bottle pours black with red highlights with a big root beer float like head with lots of lace. The aroma at first is rummy, then is more of a chocolate and coffee. The flavor is bitter chocolate, tobacco, with lingering ale sour fruit flavor. The body is pretty thin and rather carbonated. Overall, it is OK and inoffensive. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 25, 2004 Almost black with some red tints. Weak tan head. Unimpressive coffee and chocolate in the nose. Some fruit to the taste. Weak body. Not a great stout but a decent one. SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 23, 2004 dark with a thin quickly discipating head. The nose is malty and sweet and fairly one directional. The taste is sharp bitter with some hints of malt. The bitterness needs to be toned down in my opinion.
