Very dark red, permanent beige head. Quite unfortunate metallic aromas smells a little like manure. Pig manure on the tongue disappears quickly to some blinding chocolate flavours. The chocolate is oined by deep roasted malts in the finish which stretches out for a while. A bit of a tingle on the tongue. Not a bad one at all really. Some unfortunate characters but it holds up quite well. JohnnyJ (1351), Carlsbad, California, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 30, 2009 Weak aroma of light coffee. Pours dark brown with dark ruby highlights, and a huge foamy tan head. Lots of carbonation, perhaps because of the bottle conditioning? Some roasted barley and light coffee flavors, a little dry and bitter on the end. Mouthfeel is odd - huge carbonation like soda. No bad flavors, just weak. Stout soda. weaselkenievil (738), Cheshire, England

A little average in my opinion on the usual stout flavours. Very dark ruby tinted brown, almost black. Beige foamy head. Little malts and light roastiness, chocolate and coffee. A bit wooly and smooth, maybe a good thing for some but just didn’t excite me. A good stout in my eyes is more of a taste sensation. KnutAlbert (3217), Oslo, Norway
