Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
Wholesome Stout, which was voted Supreme Champion at the CAMRA Winter Beer Festival 2002 is produced using only the finest ingredients available. They include Pale malt with roasted barley which produces a rich dark colour. Flaked barley is used to create a full and creamy head. The Stout is flavoured with Northdown hops which give a dry resinous taste.

Black, brown head. Very little aroma. Burnt toast, coffee, and a hint of dry red wine are all present. dusty, dry finish.

Opaque black with a puffy, cocoa head. Nose is roasty, slightly burnt, and a bit meaty. Very smoky, meat-like quality returns, almost rauchbier-esque in a rather mild way. Roasts are a bit thin but not hugely absent, and has a very slight chocolate undertone. A bit of tobacco as well. Very smooth, not too sticky, could be a bit thicker. Still, rather good and better than its rating would appear to indicate.

Aroma is a little yeasty, earthy and chalky. Not too much to go on with the smell. The taste is subtle bitterness. Pure heaven for a stout. Very full-bodied and creamy. This beer has a phenomenal pour. Excellent creamy pale white head with a nice long lasting stay. Lacing is also tremendous. Thick and chewy stout with a perfect appearance and nice strong bitter flavor. This is a very nice stout and I will look for more when I can.

This reminds me so much of Guiness.Similar dark almost black appearance and a bitter taste with a dry aftertaste. They say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery, This is a fine stout.

Cask, GBBF. Opague with just a bit of a head. Creamy aroma with roasted malt. Roasty and creamy flavor that leaves little room for other flavors, just raisin maybe. Fairly light bodied, but lots of flavor. Long roasty bitter aftertaste.

Near black with a smallish tan head. Aromas of roasted barley, mocha, peat and coffee. Light flavors that match the aromas. A session type stout. Light with mild, yet true to style flavors.

Rich chocolate nose, with some roast, mollasses/vegemite. Really dry mouthfeel, bitter and roasty. Cadbury Chocolate flavour, some cola, vanilla, vegemite and some citric hops, quite a lot of different flavours. Light to medium bodied, with a fizzy mouthfeel. Its not bad, i just don't think the flavours blended together that well.

Pretty damn black with some floaties; persistent thin head with great lace; clean dirt nose. Nice bracing bitterness- nice body for only 4.6%.
