haddonsman (1234), Derby, Derbyshire, England Mar 22, 2006 Cask (handpulled) at the Royal Oak, Ockbrook. Keenly hopped with a dry finish, worked OK with the fish ’n chips but coudl have had more flavour. chriso (4665), London, Greater London, England Sep 30, 2005 Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival 2005. Bronze colour. Slightly hazy. Thin head, but there’s quite a prickly carbonation on the tongue. Resinous, spicy hop aroma. In the mouth its clean and dry, with a rather astringent, drying sharpness in the aftertaste. That gives it a quite refreshing feel. Some bitterness and plenty of juicy fruit. Quite nice.

Fairly decent stuff considering they make cars! Initially let down by an unpleasant aroma that smells like it is still fermenting and this comes through in the flavour at the finish too. Don’t let that put you off however because otherwise its good. Typical hoppy English ale with a bit of sweetness but not too much and some fruit and cream at the finish. Unusual but inviting chestnut / tan looks and held its head pretty much all the way down. Drinkable and morish. RichardGretton (3128), Leicestershire, England Mar 7, 2005 Golden and thick looking beer with a constant head. The aroma is very light and smoothly hopped, and the flavour is very hopped, with a hint of caramel and very refreshing owing to its dry nature. Overall a good beer, very nice. Garrat (1132), Suffolk, England Feb 20, 2005 From A Bottle.Amber in colour, small head, light hop aroma, nice hops and quite dry and bitter. imdownthepub (5086), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Jun 23, 2004 Cask Conditioned at The Saye & Sele Arms, Broughton, Oxon. Pale Orange Gold with bubbly head. Medium strength beer with plenty of dry hopped notes and a slight caramel malt base. Some boiled notes through the floral character, good summer drinking.
