Mild roasty aroma and flavor. No real bitterness. Body is light as it should be. Very easy drinking.

I thought this beer was bland and unexciting when I had it on tap at Wynkoop’s in Denver. It poured an opaque black, with a tan head that quickly faded. I couldn’t pick up any aroma from the top of my glass. Flavor was lightly roasty, but that is me reaching for something to say about this beer. Mouthfeel was clean, which is easy to do when a beer doesn’t taste like much! Not really recommended.

On tap at Wynkoop’s in Denver. Pours a deep mahogany brown with reddish highlights. Aromas of roasted malts. Thin palate. Tastes of roasted malts with a hint of chocolate and licorice. Finishes clean. Wynkoop’s really pushes this beer. It’s very good, but not great.

tap at the brewpub. a nondescript black body. smelled like a license plate. flavor was thin roast, and a bit of blood, with a marshmallow finish. the metallic notes really detracted for me with this one.

Draft at Wynkoop. Black bodied. Nose is roasted malts, dark chocolate and hints of coffee. Light burnt or smoky notes as well. Taste is dark chocolate, roasty malts, light coffee, cocoa, light smokiness and hints of dark fruit. Body is creamy and smooth. Light-medium overall feel. Finishes with more dark chocolate, some coffee, roasted malts and some dark fruits.

A good little beer. Some coffee, chocolate, and lots of raisins. Raisins were the main flavor, aroma and everything. Decent at best.
