Commercial Description:
This addition to our beer menu is a stronger version of an American Brown Ale. Chocolate, crystal and amber malts combined with a generous amount of two row pale give this ale a rich and complex character. Cascade and Willamete hops balance out the notable malt and alcohol aspects of this beer.

A red-brown beer with a small disappearing beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong fruity notes, and so is the flavor.

From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 11/10/2007 White head. Fruity aroma. Mid brown coloured hoppy fruity and a little rich on the palate. Crisp and bitter malt finish.

On tap at the Wynkoop Brew Pub. Poured a darker brownish / orange color with a small sized off white head. Aromas and tastes of caramel, roast, chocolate and I swear I was getting some type of spices in there. Sweet finish. Light lacing left on the glass.

(draught) Very deep brown; dark-yellow head, stable and lacy. Very little nose, disappointing. Burnt tobacco & chocolate; sweetish but not cloying. Virtually no bitterness. Well-bodied, but much thinner texture. Alcohol remains well-hidden. This is disappointing, most of the Wynkoop range I had. What were they thinking of? Even for a brown ale, 8+ % ought to account for something.

Draught. Body is dark brown. Aroma is lightly malty (roasted grain, caramel), with notes of toffee and brown sugar. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. Eh.

Tap @ Wynkoop: Poured a mostly clear deep copper-brown color with an off-white head an nice lacing. The hops are strong and cover most of the malt. Some fruity character as well. The flavor was malty with caramel and fruit. Some sweetness. Hoppy middle and finish. Nice warmth.

On tap @ Wynkoop poured a hazy dark brown with a minimal amber head.Aromas of chocolate, carmel, toffee and a hint of nuts. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of nuts, carmel and light chocolate with a smooth finish.
