This was far and away the best beer I had during my visit to the Weizen Bock brewpub, and I thought it far better than its reviews here. I thought this beer had an interesting look, and a ton of unique flavors. This beer appeared foamy and opaque with bubbles, much like a well-poured Guinness. Color was a bit orangy-brown, like clay-muddy water. The beer had a ton of head that towered over the rim of the glass that contained it. Aroma was of some spiciness (clove?) and mintiness. Intrigued, I took a sip, and I got hints of mint, clove, coriander, and other spices backed by a significant malt presence. Mouthfeel was substantial, and felt right. I thought this beer was delicious; I’d recommend it highly. I had this on-tap at the Wynkoop brewpub.

On tap. Nice cinnamon aroma with hints of apple. Small head on top of a totally muddy beer. This beer is the most strange looking brew that I have ever had in a bar. It is not hazy, it is not even milky - it is beyond milky! Pleasant smoked flavor with lots of esters , licorice and caramel. Mouth feel is brutal - almost like melted milkshake. Large chunks of yeast in the glass proves that this is real beer. It takes some balls to serve a beer like this, as many people will be scared by the appearance.

Draft at the brewpub, GABF weekend. Nice hazy brown muddiness with a thin but sticky foam top. The aroma is almost banana creme pie. As it drinks, the banana essence stays in the background, with the yeasty side playing the leading role. Finishes with a sharp biting bitterness that lingers. Very nice representation of the style. On Tap at the Wynkoop Brewery, Denver 29/09/2005 Mid brown coloured with a very cloudy appearance. Citrus and banana fruit aroma and flavours. Some spice in a slightly dry finish.

Cloudy brown body Solid wheat nose. Clove, wheat, and coarriander on the nose. Slightly bitter.

On tap at the Wynkoop Brewery 9/27/06 (fresh keg, still a fair amount of sediment). Brown muddy color. Nice, thick, lasting head. Aroma is really nice--good balance of banana and clove. Flavor is more of the same, but with caramel to balance the weiss flavors; a little tartness in the finish, most likely due to the newness of the brew and the yeast still in it. I’d love to taste this beer after it settles a bit.

Quite a potent beer here. Very rich aroma with lots of clove, banana, and even malt. Beer is very sweet, but not cloying. Body is full. Wow, good stuff.

Pours a cloudy dark amber opaque with a dense, frothy tan head. Aroma of sweet bready German yeast with good wheat and clove notes. Body starts full and yeasty with a mild sweetness and lots of spicy clove and some banana esters toward a drier doughy finish. Good weizenbock, but could use a little more sweetness.
