| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 7, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. 4.2% AbV. Poured a clear orange color. Head was off white with good retention and lacing. Aroma was of subdued toffee and caramel. Carbonation was on the high end of the spectrum. There was no significant hop bitterness. Dry on the tongue with malty caramel and cereal grain flavors. Not bad. Ernest (4501), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 1, 2007 Draught, Wynkoop. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is light amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie, caramel), lightly hoppy (flowers, apricot), with a note of diacetyl. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Promising, but the diacetyl is a bit too strong for my tastes. wnp22 (682), Toronto (Roncesvalles Village), Ontario, Canada

Light rail ale - here we go....A biiter would Dickens and/or Churchill really drink this. Ok, well maybe Dickens, but the big Winston? The man who uttered the fateful words......."What General Weygand called the Battle of France is over. I expect that the Battle of Britain is about to begin. Upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilization. Upon it depends our own British life, and the long continuity of our institutions and our Empire. The whole fury and might of the enemy must very soon be turned on us. Hitler knows that he will have to break us in this Island or lose the war. If we can stand up to him, all Europe may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science. Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, "This was their finest hour". Naaaahh - I don’t think so. Slight tangy scent, grassy and grainy aroma and taste. Green. A very very light rendition of the ’bitter’ style. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA

Quite cloudy. Unbalanced and bland with some hop presence. Very poor! SpaceMonkey (182), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 18, 2002 This beer hits you with a sweet orange smell, very clean, but not very strong.
Dark gold at the edges wrap around a deep tangerine center. Big carbonation makes it difficult to pour, but it settles down as it warms. Very cloudy with lots of specks.
Not much here, kind of bland. There’s a hint of sweetness, a little hops, but the timing is way off and doesn’t balance well. There is a somewhat displeasing diet soda after taste.
I just don’t really care for what this was doing. There are much better pales around, and many better bitters.
