| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 30, 2008 On tap in D-town. Copper color with a frothy head. Citrus hop aroma... nice. Just the right amount of hop taste, but I was disappointed with a watered down feel. Low carbonation. Good start but could be better. ratman197 (3242), Arvada, Colorado, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 12, 2007 Cask version on tap at the brewpub. Pours golden with a very well-retained white head of great duration. Very good aroma of citrus peel. Flavors of oranges and choclate from the big hop blend. Very malty making the hop content smoothed out. KPMycoskie (15), USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 22, 2007 On tap at the brewery. The Monkey has a rich amber color and decent citrus hoppy aroma, but the level of hoppiness throughout is weak according to my IPA standards. Perhaps if you are turning a newby beer drinking onto IPAs, this might be a good start. But if you yourself are a hop-head, you might want to start with the ESB. Prost.
