on tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazy light copper with a decent head. The aroma has strong pepper, rather straight forward. It seems to be one strain of pepper, maybe two. The palate is light and works well with the capsicum burn, though this is less spicy than a few other pepper beers I’ve had. The finish brings out the Euro hops. This is an easy drinker. bu11zeye (5505), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Nov 1, 2008 Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a hazy dark amber-orange color with a minimal white head that burns away to nothing quickly. Spotty lacing. Chili pepper aroma with a sweet malt undertone. Light-bodied and peppery throughout, with a touch of underlying sweetness. The finish is hot peppers. Thanks to Cave Creek I’ll never be able to try a beer like this without some trepidation, but still it was not very enjoyable. rederic (1811), montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 23, 2008 Amber color, with a mild anaheim chili pepper nose, not very strong, with a honeyed, toasty malt accent, a hint of black pepper spiciness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a toasty malt, light chili pepper character, nothing to compare, with some other beers, that i have tasted, that they were much more stronger on the chili side, with a faint honey accent, leading towards a toasty, mild chili finish. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 21, 2008 Draught. Low white and quickly disappearing fluffy white head. Clear amber body. Mild and relatively sweet honey aroma. Flavor also very mild honey with just an indication of the chilli. Low carbonation, short aftertaste. Had expected more. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 13, 2008 Draft at the brewery. Hazy amber, small white head. Wet bread and spoiled honey in the nose with some small chile pepper note... spicy, green, natural but very mild, and the nastiness of the wet and soggy honey bread malt profile pretty much dominates. Little to no bitterness. Chile peppers present on the tip of the tongue but then it just disappears... it’s just gone. That’s not supposed to happen. No heat. What’s left is pretty bad - old moldy honey and soggy muffins. Blah. soyorganic (217), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 30, 2008 On tap in Denver. Light copper color with a small head. Aroma is distinctive chili spice. Taste is very similar, balanced and not much to notice but the chili flavor. Tastes better as you drink it, good beer and I like the idea. SledgeJr (2961), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 12, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Pours light amber with a thin white head. Has the requisite pepper aroma and little else. Flavor was not as disgusting as many chili beers with a medium hot spiciness. Intersting is the doughy flavors that also can be discerned amidst this concoction. Drinkable, but only in the sampler size.
