Taste is also very peppery bit is surprisingly mild on the spice. Rather drinkable. Body is light with a lingering pepper flavor. Ends with more pepper and spices. Not bad at all! Nice, big chili aroma. That’s all you need to say about it ... think big, chili aroma. Appearance: a slightly hazy, unfiltered gold with a thin,w hite head. Flavor is much, much more mellow than the big aromas would otherwise suggest. Medium-thin on the palate and well-carbonated without being too spritzy. The taste of chili lingers for a few minutes ... mmmm .... hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 2, 2006 pint at the brewpub. Pours golden/light orange with a thin white head. Aroma is of chili peppers, and malts/grain. Taste is malty with a good amount of chilis throughout the taste and palate, but not overwhelming. Seems to be perfectly balanced. Was awesome with chips and salsa. jimvy (131), O’Fallon, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 2, 2006 On tap at the Wynkoop Brewery 9/27/06. Light blonde color with good clarity, thin white head. Aroma is light chilis, some dms evident. Flavor is really a nice balance for a beer of this type. Good chili flavor without burning the crap out of you. If anything, it could use a bit more heat. Overall, as far as this type of beer goes, this is pretty decent....but I still wouldn’t drink a whole one. 1FastSTi (2591), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2006 The flavor was actually pretty decent. The brew said it had poblano in there too. Nice peppery flavor that was pretty realistic and not done badly. Golden body. I would have drank more of it, but was sooooo full. A good chili beer. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 21, 2006 This beer was a little out of control for me. Perhaps it was my palate conidering all the various styles that I had previously drank on this day. Strong aroma of chili powder, and a light bit of DMS. Roasted spices and vegetables, with a bit of a grainey maltiness. Not overly hot but more of an annoyance on the palate. I literally got irritated drinking this.
