C’mon people!!! This doesn’t deserve a 36! How many chile beers can you think of? I brewed one, but I made it a wit, so they’re not comparable. It has a slightly malty flavor, but it is all jalapeno. No one wants to drink more than one chile beer, but it is what it is (I hate that saying). This is the perfect devil-may-care beer, just drink it!

Nov 28, 2009 I kind of like this beer - a fairly clean german lager, with a decent dose of hops, and a lot of natural pepper flavor, without a great deal of heat - granted, there isn’t much to the beer outside of the peppers, but that odd vegetal character you get in a lot of pepper beer is absent - it’s just clean, drinkable, and good with food - not bad.

Oct 10, 2009 tap at the brewpub - Pours yellow with a small white head. It smells like chili peppers. Shocking, isn’t it? A chili beer that smells like chilis. It also tastes like, duh, chilis. The beer itself is a light flavored and bodied brew and the chili flavors really dominate it though manage not to be completely overwhelming. It’s not my thing, but it still manages to beat the hell out of Cave Creek.

Sep 20, 2009 Smells like someone dropped pickled jalapenos in my beer...not really an aroma I prefer from my beer. Golden in color with little white head. Tastes like a golden ale with slight hot finish; not as bad as it smells.

Jul 30, 2009 On tap @ Wynkoop. Hazy golden with a smalll white head, fair retention. Dominant aroma of spicy green peppers, and little else. Flavor has the same vegetal notes with only a faint amount of heat. Light body with light to moderate carbonation. If folks think this is the best pepper beer, I shall pick up a growler of the Jaipur and prove ’em all wrong! It has yet to meet its match

Jul 12, 2009 (on tap at the brewery). Cloudy gold color. Small white head. Moderate chili aroma. Light chili flavor. Short duration. Thin texture. Smooth finish. Soft carbonation. Fair lacing.

Jun 9, 2009 My friend drinking this found this quite enjoyable so I had to buy a sample, and indeed it wasn’t anywhere as bad as most chili beers. Orange-yellow color. Dry chili aroma, not spicy. The beer lets a few fruity notes to peek through, along with some strong vegetal strains, giving it a salsa-like quality due to the jalapeno flavors (not the spicy, just the flavors). Mar 15, 2009 On tap at brewery for GABF 08. Light amber color with small head. Nose is huge chili peppers. Flavor is light smoke, grains and soft peppers. Not bad at all.
