Nice amber ale, some hoppiness, which is always a nice change in an amber. Very smooth bodied and on the palate. Smooth carbonation. Tasty. Update: 8/7/01. I have gained some new respect for this beer. I can’t vouch for the bottled version I guess, but it really was everything you could want your Marzen to be.

Great beer! Had on tap at the Wynkoop. Smooth flavor, no real aftertaste. Perfect for a light/amber lover like myself.

Dark orange color with a minimal head. Smell is malty. The taste is very malty at first and then gives way to nice fruity flavors. This was a good beer and I struggled to decide what style it was (not listed on the menu and I didn’t ask) but I think it was more ESB than pale ale. I would never have guessed a marzen.Nice stuff and I would have had two but I was driving. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 10-22-2007 14:53:55

On tap at the brewpub on 10/15/07: Transparent deep copper color with a full-lacing off-white head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasty German malt with good noble hoppy presence. Body is fairly full with a lightly sweet toasty pale maltiness and crisp slightly bitter hoppiness. Very true to style and drinkable.

After two crappy Wynkoop draws (IPA and ESB) this one tasted like the best beer in the world. Of course that is because the first two were terrible. A cup of coffee would have tasted like the best beer ever after the first two. This one was decent, but not great. It made my burrito taste better than the first two I had and actually made an unenjoyable experience ok. The service was pretty poor, but the food was good, the beer was warm and the evening was, well, it was an evening.

On tap at brewery for GABF 08. Amber pour. Nose of grains, citrus, nuts and biscuits. Flavor has a nice nuttyness and hop profile.

Had this at the brewery. I liked the amber color of this. Nice and smooth and well-balanced between the malts and the hops.

This is a nice ale, but not the best of Wynkoop’s beers. It has a good color with hoppy notes in the nose. The malt and hop flavors balance very well. I agree with ’tasty.’
